Our Mission

We are joining with Christ to transform Williamsport with the Gospel for the glory of God and the good of our city.

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and signs were being performed through the apostles. They sold their possessions and property and distributed the proceeds to all, as any had need. Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with joyful and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. Every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved. Now all the believers were together and held all things in common.

- Acts 2:42-47 CSB

Our History

Our story began when God gave a vision to a handful of friends to plant a church in Williamsport, PA.

In January 2012, six families began meeting for prayer and Bible study in Spencer and Beth Sweetings’ living room. By March, that Bible Study became a City Group and relocated to Alabaster Coffee in downtown Williamsport. In September 2012, we launched our worship gathering as City Alliance Church. Since then, our community has continued to be shaped by the Gospel, sought new ways to serve and bless our city, and has continued to see God’s faithfulness along the journey.

In 2015, the people of First Baptist gave us the opportunity to make their historic building our new home in the heart of our city for the good of our city. As we put our roots down in the heart of Williamsport, we’re overjoyed to become tethered to the history of the local church in our city and seek Gospel renewal here for generations into the future.
